
Team History
StoneBaker Racing has evolved from Beowulf Racing, one of Britain’s most experienced and highly-rated independent superbike teams. The team are firmly established as regular contenders in World Superbike support championships and are widely regarded as one of the foremost technically independent teams in the superbike paddock. They they have built a track record, technical capability and business structure necessary to deliver success at the highest level of motorsport.
The team’s first victory at international superbike level came at Assen at the start of the 2008 season in the European Superstock 600 Championship. This followed a 3rd place finish at Valencia.
Formed in 1996 by Andrew Stone to develop young riders, Beowulf Racing achieved a high level of success in British Championship racing taking 125, 250 and 600cc class wins and qualifying for the British Superbike Championship in 2001. A Beowulf-prepared Suzuki bike set 4 land speed records in 2002 after which Beowulf were selected by Suzuki to represent the UK at the Suzuki World Challenge in France, where they finished 3rd. Beowulf’s performance in the British Superbike Championship enabled them to qualify for World Superbike’s Superstock Championship in 2003. In 2007 the team gained it’s first podium finish at international level when Gino Rea finished 3rd at Valencia. The team also achieved national level wins in Spain and the Czech Republic.
